A visit with Santa (aka A post with no pictures)

Santa was in University Mall in Chapel Hill today! He was available starting at 10 AM, but despite our best efforts to get there right at 10, we arrived at 10:30, to a long line. Chad would have stood patiently for hours for the chance to ask Santa for a racetrack and a tree. (A tree??? Seriously? A tree? Sorry, Chaddy Appleseed, but you have a backyard full of trees. "Santa" doesn't have to bring you another one.) Natalie and Theo were not too pleased with the idea of waiting. But they were dressed so cute (red sweater vest for Theo, penguin shirt and fuzzy boots for Natalie) that we had to stick it out. They took turns walking around the mall with Andy while I held our place in line.
Finally, it was our turn! Chad bounded right up next to Santa, and then we went to place the littles for their picture.
Us: Natalie, do you want to sit with Santa?Natalie: NO!Us: Theo, do you want to sit with Santa?Theo: Waaaaahhhhhhh! MOMMY!!!!!Us: Natalie, are you sure?Natalie: AAAIIEEEEEEE!!!!!

Santa took the rejection quite well, and tried to make small talk with them and exchange high fives, but they were still wary and I didn't need pictures of them crying, when I can see it for free every day at home.
Chad and Santa had a nice talk and had their picture taken together. You're not allowed to take any photos with your own camera or phone (and since we don't have a selfie stick, we couldn't even sneak one from an odd angle.) The photo packages start at $25, and we already have really cute pictures of Chad and Santa from two years ago. So we left, photo-less. This whole story will probably come out in one of the twins' therapy sessions some day.
