Chad is seven months old!
He's up to 18 pounds and about 27 inches long. Most of his clothes are sized 3-6 months, but he has short little legs and can still wear 0-3 month pants. Just this week we finally moved his booty up to size 3 diapers. Still no teeth, but I can see two little lines where the teeth are just below the surface. He can sit on his own, sans Boppy, for a few seconds, but then he tumbles over. I blame the lack of teeth on his big head. His head has always been around the 70th percentile. So that means more gums for the teeth to push through. It's probably also why he's not great at sitting yet. It can be hard to concentrate on sitting when you have such a big head to hold up. He's not ready to crawl, but if he sees a toy or a cat he wants he can usually get to it by a combination of rolling, spinning on his belly and a backwards army crawl-type move. It's a slow process, which means the cats are safe for now.
This month has been all about the veggie purees for Chad! He has yet to find a veggie
he doesn't like.
Pumpkin (We got a little messy with this one.)
Green beans
Carrots
Peas (Blech! I felt bad about making him eat peas.)
Sweet potatoes
Broccoli
Bananas (The favorite!)
He has also mastered the bottle hold. Sometimes he'll even show off and do it one-handed.
He thinks he doesn't need me anymore, but I'd like to see him change his own diaper.
Chad would also like to wish his Uncle Mike a happy birthday today! We tried to get him to hold a sign up, but as soon as he realized the sign was made of paper he became more interested in eating it.
