First we went into the bounce house, which Chad didn't really get the point of.
He kept trying to sit down.
So I helped him bounce a little, but then he quickly exited the attraction.
They were launching pumpkins, but we didn't hang around there long. It was kind of loud. Fortunately, the pumpkins weren't going high enough to interfere with Felix Baumgartner's descent.Next we took a ride on the cow train. This was the highlight of the day for Chad.
He kept a very tight grip on the cow, but smiled the whole time.
Then he and Andy climbed the tractors. This seemed like a guy thing to do so I opted out of this activity.
There was a corn maze, which was much easier than the one we did last year.
We started to let Chad carry our flag, but he thought it was a Swiffer and kept trying to sweep the sand with it.
This corn maze had check points with trivia questions that would tell you which way to turn next if you got the right answer. We had one set of trivia questions for Chad, and one set for me and Andy. Let's just say it's a good thing we had Chad's easy questions, or we would still be stuck in the maze. Factoids such as: how heavy was the biggest pumpkin pie ever? (answer: 2020 pounds) just aren't part of my working knowledge.
I was asking Chad if corn grew a) in fields or b) on the moon. Instead of helping us get out of the maze, he checked out the irrigation device.
Finally, we took a tractor out to the pumpkin patch!
Chad lost interest in the pumpkins because he wanted to get back on the tractor. But we found him a good one!
After all that activity, we were hungry so we went to the bison burger restaurant, where Chad dipped his pickles in ketchup. Yummy. As we were leaving, we heard a lady at the table next to us say "That little boy was so good." (I'm guessing that lady was in the restroom when Chad knocked a plate full of horseradish dipping sauce off the table.) "Good" isn't usually a word that describes Chad's behavior in restaurants, so I was super proud of him.
